I personally feel the attempts to impose religiosity into law is some twisted form of proselytization. As a Catholic I think there are religiously ground arguments for birth control and I personally never taken issue with people having choice. While hypocrisy undermines the credibility of the people making the argument, it doesn't address the points of the position they represent. Hi, former Catholic here. The part that my family is/was in was very much the Catholic that you describe. Hell, the Pope doesn't even agree with most of what you said but there are more than enough of the overly vocal minority in Catholicism that perpetuate the stereotype. I live in a mostly Southern Baptist state and they're just as bad. I firmly believe that no sitting member of the SCOTUS should be religious. No one in a position of power should be religious. Ever.

Honestly just getting kind of tiresome and sad. My dad (1943-2020) spent his entire life calling the US a 'Banana Republic' saying that for all the good they did in ww2, everything that followed was cultural imperialism and what not.
