What the supreme court said was that it isn't unconstitutional for states to fine/remove electors who go against the popular vote, you can still be a faithless elector, many states already had laws against faithless electors but they were rarely enforced. Because our votes are supposed to determine who the electoral college votes for. Electors in some states can stray from what their state says, but its very uncommon for them to do so and can often get them fined.

Honestly just getting kind of tiresome and sad. My dad (1943-2020) spent his entire life calling the US a 'Banana Republic' saying that for all the good they did in ww2, everything that followed was cultural imperialism and what not.
