I think I've seen far more people calling other people bots than actual bots. But the other thing is I believe Twitter is primarily just a small bubble of very dedicated, very angry users. I look at some of the accounts and the angriest most outspoken ones tend to post an average of 5-10 times a day, while the more reserved ones I saw post an average of a couple times a week (Kinda like how on Trump tweets you always see the same 5 accounts or so responding to him). So if you use Twitter to gauge public sentiment you're moreso just measuring the sentiment of these smaller dedicated factions.

Honestly just getting kind of tiresome and sad. My dad (1943-2020) spent his entire life calling the US a 'Banana Republic' saying that for all the good they did in ww2, everything that followed was cultural imperialism and what not.
