Now it’s just about winning rather than competing for what the contest is actually for. The runner that pulled off to the side did so, because he knew that he did not earn that position in this race. To him it’s not about winning a contest, it’s about accomplishing goals honestly. I don’t think that this is just showmanship. Maybe some people think he should’ve grabbed a victory in that moment, but then what value would it have for him? Unless he values the competition more than the running.

Honestly just getting kind of tiresome and sad.
